今天给国内的一家中介打电话，主要是关于父母来英国签证的问题。前些日子都是我跟老爸发邮件，他答应出来，拿去给中介看，不行了再给我电话，我再发过去，再拿去看。效率实在太低了，所以今天主动给中介电话，要个邮件地址，我直接把文档发送过去。
当我解释了要其邮箱地址的原因之后，电话那头的叔叔直接问：你加我QQ吧，号码是XXXXXXXXX。突然间意识到QQ的价值之一 – 由数字构成的ID。
无论是邮件地址，MSN， Gtalk或是Facebook，甚至是校内网，一般都没有要求只能用数字来作为ID。一直以来都习惯了用邮件来作为联系方法。尽管很多实用要用 M for Mother, N for Nancy，或是 B for Boy, D for David 来去区分一些容易混淆的字母，但也一般还是能在电话里把邮件地址描述清楚。但是今天才意识到其实数字才是最清楚的一种ID方式。无论是中文，英文还是日文，从1到10里面容易混淆的绝对没有26个字母里面那么多。而且，如果要跟今天这位中介叔叔来“麦克的M姆”, “南瓜的N”来拼一遍的话，恐怕拼错的可能性会很大。
不得不承认，像“我的QQ号码是1234567”和“我的邮箱是 1234567@126.net”这样的“网络名字”才是最适合国人使用的。
Ps. 有一次跟一个中文客户通电，在拼写用户名时她说了一句 K for Book （“布-可”的发音）。

呵呵，有点道理，但是如果想深一层感觉你有点看不起国人
什么K for book????
不是看不清国人吧~只是作为不同语言下的发音问题不一样而已~毕竟英语不是我们的母语嘛~
现在已经算是数字时代了，但是有多少人真正使用数字化呢，连lz这种留洋生现在才突然想起来
我也是多年的数字玩家了，每天都要在qq上处理工作沟通，电子邮件，电话这些东西是不能少的，办公都是在家里，一根电话线当网线就搞定了
I don’t think Richard will ‘看不起国人’ lor… he is the least likely person to do so. What he is trying to say is that we all have to be careful when we learn a language. Since it is not our mother tongue, it’s an obviously reasonable to make mistakes. But when you learn a language shouldn’t you learn the basics first? Come on guys, ‘K for Book’?!?!!!! Even my three year old cousin in China knows that it’s wrong. -_-”
Personally, I think this person either
1. is really terrible with language skills
OR
2. types too many ‘chinglish’ in his/her daily life.
Just like in Singapore, where everyone is specking Singlish. It’s a trend, you should feel proud of it and it’s part of their daily life. You feel much more integrated into the Singapore culture if you spoke ‘Singlish’. But the Singapore Government has been trying to solve this problem with the promotion of the ‘Queen’s English’ with the introduction of ‘Standard English Day’. So recognising, in the first place, that ‘K for Book’ is a problem with our fellow chinese speckers can lead to MORE SOCIAL AWARENESS that it’s about time we take more action to improve our English.
Seriously! ‘K’ for ‘YOU-MUST-BE-KIDDING-ME’!

数字1234567。。。是国际最通用的语言了，方便快捷，而且通俗易懂。。。^–^
